What is valet mode?

Valet mode is a setting found in many luxury vehicles that limits certain functions of the car when it is being driven by someone other than the owner, such as a valet parking attendant.

Some of the common features that are often restricted when valet mode is activated include limiting the top speed of the car, preventing access to the trunk and glove compartment, disabling the ability to make changes to vehicle settings, and blocking access to the personal information stored in the car's infotainment system.

Valet mode is designed to provide added security and peace of mind for vehicle owners when they need to temporarily hand over possession of their vehicle to someone else. It helps to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive information and protect the vehicle from potential misuse or damage.

To activate valet mode, the owner typically needs to use a specific key fob or enter a designated code or sequence of buttons on the car's dashboard. Once the car is returned to the owner, they can deactivate valet mode and restore full functionality to the vehicle.
